HaynesPro WorkshopData software for South Africa.
The Haynes Publishing Group has been supplying South African market, with their printed workshop manuals since the early 1970’s. With the launch in 1995 of HaynesPro, they have served the automotive market with the latest technical data for cars, trucks and light commercial vehicles. HaynesPro is committed to providing independent workshops with easily accessible data to enable them to maximise efficiency and profitability.
HaynesPro WorkshopData approved by MIWA (South Africa).
Due the fact that the HaynesPro workshopData covers the European “Car Park”, we decided to first test the software to ensure that it will cover the majority of South African cars. After extensive testing by MIWA for a number of months, the software was approved and recommended for use in South African workshops. Due to this fact, we have proudly incorporated the MIWA logo in our website. MIWA stands for “Motor Industry Workshop Association of South Africa” and represents 2500 independently owned workshops in the RSA.
All South African packages come standard with a “repair time” module already included in the software. Our repair times module contains detailed descriptions of all servicing and repair work, including standard labour times. The module specifies individual repair items and calculates their cost. As it takes account of follow-up as well as additional work, no labour items are overlooked – either in the cost specification or the invoice. This helps to maximise workshop revenue.
HaynesPro WorkshopData Modules for the RSA
The HaynesPro WorkshopData has three separate car maintenance tools. Considered singly, the three modules are called Tech, Electronics, and Smart. Together they form the acronym SET. HaynesPro workshopData can be divided into three main Modules. They are listed below.
Module 1 :
Intuitive and essential technical information at the technician’s fingertips.
- Identification data
- Adjustment data
- Lubricants and fluids
- Repair manuals
- Repair times
- Technical drawings
Module 2 :
This electrical systems module includes VESA Mk II, a unique tool which guides mechanics to a rapid, precise identification of system and component errors.
- VESA™ Mk II (Guided diagnostics)
- Comfort Wiring Diagrams
- Fuses and Relays
Module 3 :
Reduces time spent on known issues by providing fixes sourced from manufacturers and industry specialists.
- Known fixes and tips (SmartCASE™)
- Technical Service Bulletins (SmartFIX™)
Wiring Diagrams: Clear, ‘localised’ wiring schematics for all key vehicle features, with wire and component trace functionality for fast, efficient, first-time fixes. Wiring diagrams covering e.g. door locks, windows, airbags, exterior lights, starting/charging and wash/wiper systems Pan and zoom functionality Highlight functionality to trace corresponding wires and components.
Electronic Procedures: Disconnecting/reconnecting a battery used to be a straightforward task. In modern vehicles, the procedure is more complicated. The mechanic needs to know what procedures to follow after reconnecting a battery. This will prevent the customer having to return the vehicle to the workshop due to errors in systems such as parking assistance or power windows. Due to the growing number of hybrid vehicles on the market, mechanics also need specific instructions on how to work safely on these vehicles.
Fuses and Relays: Clear fuse location and identification feature. Ever helpful, HaynesPro has created an Electronics module packed with essential information, typified by this clear fuse location and identification feature. Fuse boxes may be installed in various locations on a vehicle, making them more difficult to find. Using the data in Fuses and Relays minimises the time spent on searching.
Locations: One of the clear goals of HaynesPro’s data is to reduce the number of unbillable hours. The time spent on searching for ground points, control units or the EOBD connector location should be reduced as much as possible. To facilitate this, HaynesPro’s electronic data offers direct links to such locations.
